Plane Transporting Pete Hegseth Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
A jet transporting the US defense secretary was forced to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the jet's front window, as stated by an official announcement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.
"The jet landed in accordance with standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, among them Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," an official representative said in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital during the flight.
This event isn't the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet transporting a high-ranking official has suffered technical problems.
In a previous incident this year, a American military jet carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was forced to turn back to the US capital after encountering a mechanical fault.
